Progress - at all costs!

Well nothing's happened on here since that first foray into the blogosphere - but there's a very good reason why.  We're doing our first craft fair!  After years of wandering around looking at beautiful things made by talented people we've finally become brave enough to enter the exciting (and slightly scary) world of craft selling!  You can imagine how busy things are at the moment.  Life would be much easier if everything paused as soon as you committed yourself to a project but unfortunately, that's just not going to happen.  Meals must still be made, clothes must still be washed, children must still be shouted at.  A Mammy's work is never done.

There's a different feel about working towards a craft fair, too.  For the first time, I can't just give up and buy something if the project doesn't work.  I can't cut corners to save time (milk carton fascinator, anyone?) and I can't just make one and stop there.  Making to sell demands precision, dedication and continuity.  And you can't rush into town and buy those either.

We're building up a stock of handmade pieces, each created with love and attention and our very own take on modern vintage style.  We're confident that the good people of Wallsend Memorial Hall will enjoy them - fingers crossed we're right!  We'll be back with pictures to let you know how it goes...
